Construction Delivery Driver

RVA Construction, Inc., a leading Commercial General Contractor, is seeking a reliable and experienced Construction Delivery Driver to transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites. The ideal candidate must excel in managing and delivering incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining high performance standards, and adhering to company safety procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Transport: Safely load, transport, and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment to various job sites.
  • Managing Deliveries: Oversee and manage the delivery of incoming and outgoing construction materials, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
  • Timely Deliveries: Maintain a daily delivery schedule, ensuring materials arrive at job sites in a timely manner to support project timelines.
  • Job Site Maintenance: Maintain clean and organized job sites by assisting with materials and ensuring orderliness.
  • Professional Interaction: Communicate professionally with clients, project managers, designers, and team members, representing RVA Construction in a positive light.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintenance, including cleaning the interior and exterior, refueling, arranging scheduled repairs, and shuttling vehicles for repairs.
  • Receipt Tracking: Carefully maintain and organize receipts for gas purchases and vehicle repairs.
  • Manual Labor: While your primary role is as a driver, you may be required to assist with various manual labor tasks on the job site.
  • Quality Ownership: Take responsibility and own the quality of your work, ensuring high standards in every aspect of the job.
  • Safety Compliance: Strictly follow company safety rules and procedures, including proper load securing, vehicle operation, and job site safety protocols.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all interactions with clients, vendors, and subcontractors are handled professionally and courteously.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License: Must hold a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a delivery driver, preferably in the construction industry. Licensed forklift operator a plus.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 80 lbs.) as required.
  • Knowledge of Construction Materials: Familiarity with common construction materials and tools.
  • Strong Time Management Skills: Ability to manage time effectively and plan efficient routes.
  • Safety-Oriented: A strong commitment to safe driving practices and the handling of materials.
  • Good Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and clients.
  • High Ethical Standards: Uphold high performance and ethical standards, consistently delivering excellent customer service.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime depending on project deadlines.
  • Environment: This role involves driving to and from job sites, working outdoors in various weather conditions, assisting with the loading and unloading of materials, and performing manual labor tasks as required.
